Topic: If You Build It Will They Come? - How Do You Sustain Your Dream?

 

Please join us on Thursday, March 9th at 11:30 for lunch in the beautiful Bay View Room at the Cocoanut Grove with its panorama of the Santa Cruz coast. Our featured keynote speaker, Dr Grace Laurencin, will discuss the challenges that face us when creating a business and the hopes and fears we feel when bringing services and products to the customer. She will share her secrets on how to keep motivated when we just don't want to get out of bed.

Dr. Laurencin is a board-certified family physician with Laurencin Personal Physicians. With over 15 years of clinical experience in the Santa Cruz area, Dr. Laurencin is a well-known and respected member of the local medical community. She has recently launched her own unique private practice after working for many years with the Santa Cruz Medical Foundation. Dr Laurencin has won numerous awards for her competent and compassionate care. She holds a B.A. in Biology and Religious Studies from Brown University and an M.D. and Masters in Public Health from Boston University. She completed her residency training at the University of California, San Francisco where she received a research fellowship to study chronic disease with an emphasis on diabetes and depression. She has been a Fellow of the Academy of Family Medicine since 2000. Dr. Laurencin lectures on Western and non-Western approaches to chronic medical problems as well as health issues such as body image and the role of nutrition in health and disease.
