For more than 120 years, the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce has been committed to helping large organizations in Santa Cruz promote their businesses, both in Santa Cruz and around the world. Some of our large member organizations include technology companies, construction companies, hospitals, franchises, and educational institutions. Your Chamber membership gives you a voice in the community, access to business development assistance, professional development workshops for your employees, and opportunities
for marketing your Santa Cruz County business locally, nationally, and around the world.
The Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce has a voice in local and state government and can impact legislation and policy. Together as a group, all the Chamber businesses and corporations have greater pull in local politics than they do individually. The Chamber helps to keep our members informed about any and all regional and state issues, either through media articles, newspaper editorials, meetings, and events. The Chamber is involved with issues that affect Santa Cruz businesses, working to improve the quality
of life and business environment.
As a business organization the Chamber works to ensure that the community's economic resource are preserved and well utilized. We believe in the operation of a competitive market place and, in general, oppose efforts to control supply and demand of goods and services. The Chamber works to attracts and retain workers, entrepreneurs, and capital as a result of a positive reputation as an attractive location to live, work, and do business. Our community policies, the community of business leaders, and community
resources enhance the evolution and growth of Santa Cruz’s economic base. In addition, member-to-member business and support helps new businesses grow.
As a community organization the Chamber brings together many community groups and organizations working to improve the environment and quality of life in Santa Cruz. We are committed to promoting the arts in Santa Cruz, supporting our educational institutions, and helping to develop plans and policies to protect our natural environment. We value our high quality of life and work to make our community welcoming to residents and visitors alike, with safe streets, inviting parks, quality schools, and senitive
use of natural resources. The Chamber works collectively, influencing decisions of economic significance in our community.
Since all employees at Chamber member organizations are members of the Chamber, they are encouraged to attend Chamber events at the Chamber discounted price. Workshops and presentations cover everything you need to grow your business, learn about new technologies to market your organization, and learn the latest about issues that affect local business. Chamber members receive marketing exposure through our our online business directory, as well as sponsorships and participation in Chamber events. Chamber members can share press releases on the Chamber website or purchase a mailing list from the Chamber to reach members through direct mail. Studies show that when consumers know that a large business is a member of their local chamber, they are likely to patronize the company more often, to express favorable opinions about the company, to know more about the
company, and to buy the company's products. Be sure to display your Chamber membership decal at your business or on your company vehicles, and put the Chamber logo on your website and marketing pieces.
